The horrific acts committed by Hamas on 7 October were almost equalled in their barbarity by the denials that started shortly afterward. The reports of brutal rape and murder were met by indifference and doubt by organizations claiming to fight for women’s rights, including the UN. Some claimed that sufficient proof had not been provided, or claimed a lack of witnesses.
