Interim ruling on Israel ‘genocide’ case to be delivered by International Court of Justice on Friday at 1pm

An interim ruling regarding the case accusing Israel of ‘genocide’ in its war against the Hamas terrorists in Gaza will be delivered on Friday at 1 p.m., the International Court of Justice in The Hague announced on Wednesday evening.

South Africa's Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor will travel to The Hague to attend the ruling announcement on Friday, a South African government spokesperson said.

As part of the proceedings, South Africa had requested the court give a provisional ruling, ordering Israel to stop the fighting until a final verdict in the case was reached, which could potentially take years.

Israel strongly rejected the accusations and, in an unusual move for the Jewish State, decided to contest the case at the United Nations’ top court.

Both sides stated their cases to the court’s 17 justices during a two-day hearing that began on Jan. 11.
