After 63 million abortions in US since 1973, Supreme Court votes 5-4 to overthrow Roe v. Wade, says there is no constitutional right to an abortion

Evangelicals rejoice – all 50 states finally free to regulate or even ban killing of unborn children in the womb. Will decision affect other nations, including Israel?

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The United States Supreme Court on Friday handed down its most important and consequential decision in the last half century.

By a vote of 5 to 4, the court overthrew the Roe v. Wade decision of 1973, declaring that there is, in fact, no constitutional right to an abortion.

Evangelical Christians, who have been trying passionately to overturn the poorly argued decision for the past 49 years, are rejoicing.

All 50 states are now finally free to regulate or even ban killing of unborn children in the womb.

How will the decision affect the upcoming midterm congressional and state elections in November?

How will the decision affect abortion laws in other nations, including Israel?

All this remains to be seen.

But as I just landed in Washington a few hours ago, this is most certainly the news dominating the U.S. political and cultural scene.

More than 63 million unborn children have been aborted since the Roe decision was handed down in favor of unregulated abortion in 1973.

Many Evangelicals – myself included – consider this a genocide against unborn, defenseless and voiceless babies.

I believe overturning Roe is the first step toward restoring an unborn human being’s God-given right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Yet I continue to grieve for all those babies who lives have been sacrificed in the name of personal “choice” in the U.S., Israel and around the world.
